Summary
The US onAir Network will be working with volunteers from Nebraska universities, colleges, and nonprofit organizations to oversee the curation and moderation of posts, aircasts (online discussions), and in person events for the Nebraska onAir Hub … related to federal, state, and local elections and government.
Our first outreach will be to University of Nebraska partly because of its proximity to the state capital. We have identified many of University of Nebraska’s civic engagement, academic, internship and research programs related to making democracy and civic responsibility a focus of higher learning on their campus … for students, faculty, staff, and local community. This post, over time, will have similar information on other collaborating organizations in the state.

About
The University of Nebraska’s onAir chapter will initially focus on training interested undergrad and graduate students on how to curate Nebraska onAir content especially submitting Top News articles, events, videos, and information and moderating forums in each post they curate.
Student curators will also work with state senate and house committee chairs to produce aircasts on issues being discussed and bills being proposed in their committees.
During election season, students with other other organizations like the League of Women Voters, will coordinate and produce aircasted debates with candidates.
The University of Nebraska onAir chapter will also help to establish other onAir chapters at public and private universities and colleges throughout the state.

Who We Are
ASUN Student Government elected officials represent the student body in a variety of ways. The ASUN President, Internal Vice President, and External Vice President serve as liaisons to the Board of Regents, University administration, and a variety of other stakeholders in the University system. Forty senators are elected to represent students from every college, and membership of the Senate is organized proportionally by college population. Elections occur every March.
What We Do
ASUN Student Government holds a number of exciting events every year. Traditionally held programming includes Earthstock, Homecoming week, and the Big Event. However, our committees are always working hard to bring additional events to life. Check out our calendar and see what we have going on!
Internships

Build your credentials and shape your experience while still in school.
Political Science students can receive academic credit for an upcoming internship by enrolling in POLS 395. In order to receive credit, you must contact Dr. Bosch and get pre-approval before the start of your internship. If you have questions about receiving credit for an internship, would like to learn more about internship opportunities, or would like to register for POLS 395, please email Dr. Bosch at bbosch2@unl.edu. Also, please note that Dr. Bosch will be emailing you about internship opportunities throughout the year as he learns about them, so be sure to keep a watchful eye.

Majoring in political science at Nebraska moves you to combine the analytical and communication skills of a liberal arts degree with an in-depth understanding of governments and political processes. - American Government and Public Policy examines national, state and local government

Undergraduate research mentoring
Our faculty regularly connect with undergraduate students in the Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience (UCARE) Program, an opportunity to engage in hands-on research under the supervision of a faculty mentor.
Undergraduate participant pool
To give undergraduate students taking POLS 100 direct experience with research, we place them into the Political Science Experimental Participant Pool (PSEPP).
